New to vfr...need help

Hi been a member on here for ages got fzr400rrsp.... But bought myself a vfr400 nc30...right here goes..engine is sweet cards fueling seem good....but....took out for a run..started getting harder to get gears..no crunching or anything just hard get in gear ended up with 1,2,3...stripped fairing off..pulling clutch in the arm above the casing only moving about 5mm...do you think it's just needing new plates and cable...or..good service

A while back i couldn't get 6th, then 5th then 4th, the shift was just solid when trying for the next gear. It turned out that the gear link locknut had come loose and the rod had screwed itself...in or out (can't remember which way). A quick adjust and it's been right as rain since.

That is what happened...I started losing gears...
