Das Nurburgring

Nothing more to say really, if it's been organised it'll be here.

I don't mind taking a small group who've never been round before for a gentle(ish) guided lap (if anybody wants me to do that), as I've now ridden over 50 laps, but after that I'll probably do the rest of my laps predominantly by myself.

People are welcome to follow me out for any further laps, but if they can't keep up then I won't slow down for them and they'll need to make sure they don't ride like a twat to try to keep up, as I don't want to feel responsible for anyone falling off when I up the pace a little.

Sorry if that sounds selfish, but it's purely because it's one less thing to have to concentrate on for the faster laps I'll do. There's enough going on most of the time with traffic, camber and elevation changes, surface changes, accidents, spillages of oil and coolant etc to take up a lot of what little brain power I have. It's also now 21 Euros a lap (£16), so it'll get expensive for me to keep guiding people round and I'm only intending to do a limited number of laps.

On the upside, a lot of the roads round there are every bit as much fun as the ring and they're also free, so I'll be looking to make the most of those whilst we're there too.

I hope that dutch marshal is there again, he was spot on and most helpfull, also the cars gave him a real wide berth with the dayglo jacket. perhaps brendon would be so kind as to offer us a couple of sighting sensible laps from the front ?

boris, with all the best will in the world, done over 300 miles on the ducati since i got it back, but with supercorsa pro tyres making the steering heavy on the road at sub 50mph speeds, still need to replace discs and pads, and neutral light given up the ghost and needs the switch shimming, i too am putting a new rear tyre on the CBR, new chain and sprockets, fit the luggage and away it goes.
ah well maybe the next trip will the ducati grace the european shores once again

Nige, can we have a time check please.

This time next week I'll be on route to the Chunnel. I have a c+s kit to fit, an oil and filter change and a new rear hoop. Bring on the sunshine.

That's not dead ... it's just stunned ....

Well without the use of swear words the situation with the Bim is ....
The new disks didn't fit so were sent back. The new, new disks were supplied by PDQ but needed to assembled by another company then resent to PDQ and sent to the garage. They didn't fit cos my disks have countersunk bolts. Normal hex bolts don't work cos the hit the speedo drive. The garage then find that domed bolts do the same thing. Soooo they sent the disk to be countersunk so they can use the original bolts and they're back at the garage today.
The new master cylinder doesn't allow the original brake lines to be used, so new ones are orderred. These will be race type 2 lines from the master ... of course that means a new double banjo bolt swich rather than the single I supplied ... I've said if there's problem fitting the new master then to not bother and I'll do it.
I asked them to change the oil (this was in time for PB's trackevening on Wed gone) they can't get the oil filler cap off, well neither could I so I've always filled it through the crankcase breather.

At least the paint's done ... I imagine anyway, cos I haven't seen it.

I have to "Give them a ring on Tuesday" ... I haven't booked any time off work to collect the bike and we have 4 working days to go.
