non starter
i have recently bought the fzr400 1wg as a project but cant get it to start
im getting spark and fuel and have checked the valve timing, all are perfect
any help would be appreciated
side note: putting my hand over the carb inlet as a turn it over 1 3 and 4 seem to suck well, 2 for some reason feels as if its blowing which makes no sense to me
thanks, Bill

Re: non starter
Borrow a compression tester if you can.... but I'm betting on valve clearances being so out of spec. that it is backpressure.
It is a common reason for non starting... that and carbs that require cleaning properly.
What model of 1WG series ? not that the model makes a difference in this case but it may for other queries you
might have.

Re: non starter
Well it took me ages to get round to it but I finally got the tools out and started, there was a multitude of problems with it, yes the valve clearances were out but also cam timing I also had to replace all piston rings they were heavily damaged and I put all new gaskets on but now it runs sweet as a nut thanks for the help people
