Clutch/neutral problem
Well after my NC29 RRN decided to die on my commute to Scotland I finally tracked down the fault to the Stator.
While changing this I also decided to put a new clutch in as it had very very occasionally slipped and seeing as I was having to put a new gasket on plus oil change £40 I thought I didn't want to have to spend another £40 on those parts again if it started to slip more almost straight away.
New EBC Kevlar clutch was fitted and everything all bolted back up.
PROBLEM...Runs and starts fine. Hard work to get into 1st but goes and can flick up the gears and down but neutral wont engage unless the engine is killed then it goes in really smooth. Start it up again and drop to 1st and then you cant get neutral again till the engine is stopped.
The bike is SORNED so I want it sorting before I take it for the MOT so going for a run is out of the question.
Is it just likely to be the friction plates have absorbed alot of oil while soaking and if I put it on the paddock and let it run it may sort itself out or do i need to something else?
The only other thing to note is where the cable attaches to the bolt that goes down into the casing that pivots and pushes onto the clutch lifter plate doesn't seem to be pulling the cable back as hard as it used too. Sorry but I cant think of the proper name for the parts

damn. I have exactly the same issue.
Just put in new carbon kevlar EBC clutch, everything is ok except cant get neutral.
Anyone got some ideas?

i'm off on monday so i'm going to try putting it on a paddock stand and running it up and down the gears to see if it frees off

yeh running it up might loosen things up as a new clutch DOES need to bed in a bit,just make sure the cable is lubed and tensioned right and as soon as a bit of heat gets into the plates it usually sorts itself.hth.

Have you got the plates in the right order? There's usually one that is slightly different that goes at the back, if it's in the wrong place you get the same problems you have

yes its in the right order. Its got a slightly larger diameter if i remember (strangely the last one was in wrong)
