Full charging system check first.

You may have a buggered alternator or Reg/Rec.

After that check this out: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=37039&hilit=chargi ... em+upgrade

My trackbike fried it's wiring a few weeks ago. I fitted a new DIY wiring harness and connectors to bypass loom. Fortunately the generator and regulator were not damaged and it's charging fine again now.

that connection always goes on old bikes with exposed connectors.. the corrosion over time causees it to build up resistance and then the extra power needed to overcome it heats up the connector and melts it.

cut the bad stuff off and solder some good connectors on there, I use AMP type waterproof connectors to prevent future corossion.

After a repair as above check the charaging system.. sometimes the extra current draw can burn out your stator.

:plus:

I've pretty much swapped all my stock connectors over to AMP.
