Sorry to derail the thread - i'm just curious as to why people do this mod?

Is it so that you can put wider tyres on? Is it lighter weight?

as said above im doing it for the look.
generally it's done for looks and or a conversion to 17" (from the vfr's 18").

Yes and no. The wheel hub is slightly different on later wheels so for instance the spacer I've had made will not work with a later ducati wheel. Will show you next time your over.

I've got a rvf coming in next week, that has a ducati rear without a spacer,
I will check alignment.

R.C.jim,do you know what year they changed hubs/wheels?id really like a 5 spoke marchesini(or any 5 spoke!)as not fussed on the 3 spoke style(although can get a 3 spoke dymag for good money)so any pointers would be nice,thanks
