Ducati rear wheel conversion what do I need and how to do it ?

Not a straight conversion at all. I'm in the process of carrying out this conversion at the moment with the original three spoke 916 item. Offset is 6mm out so a spacer is needed between the hub and inner wheel face to correct this which in turn means the hub pins don't locate safely into the wheel anymore so longer items need to be used.
Then a new spacer is also needed to fit between the outer wheel face and the wheel nut.
I've only just had it all made and not had chance to try it out on the road etc yet.

Just a quick comment, Jim - all NC30, RC30 and early Ducati wheels that I`ve met have the same offset, the problem is that the wider rim/tyre combination snags the inside of the swingarm.

Yes, your 6mm spacer is a cure for the immediate problem but it does put your rear wheel that much out of alignment with the front one.

Not got the spacer to hand at the mo but when I first got the early 916 wheel i placed it on the bike and ran a pair of straight edges on the bike, the rear wheel was not central to the front hence why the spacer was made to correct this. I will try it on another bike just to make sure it's not my bike that has issues and the spacer is not actually needed

so rick, if the wheels are the same offset and spacing them out 6mm clears the swingarm (and fitting longer pins to suit) all the while puting the back end 6mm off centre.
would spacing the swingarm 6mm the opposite way not solve the problem? or would it cause issues with the chain alignment?

Can i ask a stupid question - Why Ducati 3 spoke Brembos?

I have a 916 and those wheels weigh a ton!? It is a looks thing?

There £40 to £50 as opposed to £300 for a rvf wheel. Your not just restricted to 3 spokes any ducati wheel will go

for me its purely looks. I can't afford dymag 3spoke mags.
