3EN2 Fork Bushes
Anyone know where I can get a fork bush kit, Yamaha want $1000,000 (well nearly £100 for both forks) and the only other one I can see is in the US

Re: 3EN2 Fork Bushes
What are you getting quotes for when £100 is mentioned. ?
First make sure you have the 41mm forks fitted.....your bike has had a few parts swapped over.
Unlikely dealers will have the part in stock in UK as 3EN2 is a grey import.
They will be able to pull stock from Japan via Holland in 10 days though.
Although most US. sites quote the part as from a 90/91 XT 600. (US got 400's with 38mm forks, not 3EN2)
Plenty available worldwide.........

Re: 3EN2 Fork Bushes
Have you already stripped the forks ?
I have only ever replaced one set of TOP bushes on 8 of these bikes.
That was because I scuffed the bush using the stantion as a slide hammer for the seal.
If you heat the seal and soak in release oil before disassembly. the bush is usually salvageable.
Actually after getting the parts book out.....I am somewhat intrigued......
What is the part number...or iten number you are using for the BOTTOM bush ?
I cannot find one or recall one when refurbing !
Read up on front fork upgrades for these.

Wirth springs versus stock 3EN2

15 w oil works well opposed to 10w.
Start searching for an 2006/7 R6 shock and Kayla does the matching 138mm dogbones.

Re: 3EN2 Fork Bushes
I saw this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/88-90-YAMAHA- ... 5d463b713e
and saw there was 2 bushes pictured per fork
plus I spoke to Yamaha who said there was a (I think he said) scraper bush at the bottom
but now looking at it, it says 38mm not 41mm

Re: 3EN2 Fork Bushes
Harry; in the Ebay link ...of US origins is for ;as you say, 38mm forks.
You must use the proper parts manual for a 3EN2....so many sellers get the models mixed up and are clueless of year model differences.
The US models are not the same as the grey imports into UK.
It is in the documents library of this forum
I am 95% certain there is only one wearing part that can be replaced.( the bush I linked previously and also shown in my pic.)
I would be surprised if when you strip it that it is worn to excess.
