So they were. Should be changed now (the modem Im using atm is content restricted so I cant see pics loaded by photobucket etc)

Skuppered! thats right it is. I could bolt it together and ride it, he has put an incredible ammount of man hours into it, luckily doing many of the bits I would do but dont wouldnt really have the time to do. But I received it in a condition essentially as the first few pics so I am doing the full works on it while its all easily accessed. And poking around it I found one or two bolts just nipped up, or worse still blue anodise ( :D Sorry Carlos) ! So they can all come out, get a dab or copper grease etc where appropriate and have the torque wrench put on them. Also all the polished bits are getting a top up of shine.

And naturally seals, pads, plugs, filters etc etc get changed along the way. I want it as close to a new RVF as you can get, and building it up bit by bit is fun too :D

Spike16, serious make sure you get some huge circlip pliers because the one on the hub is a monster as if you never have seen it there should be a pic now! When putting it back together, if your doing it alone like I did when people can lend a hand, momentarilly Duct taping the hub in place I found usefull as trying to get the clip back on you slide your nicely greased hub back out a smidge, which is enough to not get the clip in and this just wastes tonnes of time and is very frustrating.

When you do the rear brake routing, I recommend you foam fill your swingarm too. That does 2 thing:

1) Stops the brake line wriggling around and getting chaffed/worn/wearing other stuff etc.
2) Stops (hopefully if done right) water and other crap ingressing into the hub, and thus helps keep it nicely maintained. It shouldnt be used as a preventative to maintenance but it certainly helps.

Have you seen it be done/familiar with what needs to be done?

iv seen a couple of pics but more would be very helpful, where did you have your's exit? im thinking of getting a 90 degree fitting and have it coming out the bottom (makes it loook very clean)

I am lead to believe that the bike came over here as a japanese race bike. Looking at the photos of it when it arrived, and with all the history and componenty (lots sold off now for road going bits) I have no reason to doubt it. The exhaust was specially commisioned to be a direct copy of said exhaust, which I also happen to have seen/prepped and know of its whereabouts.

Being based on the hrc system it does look quite similar.

Full hrc systems were only available in mild steel, the condition of most is not A1 these days. There's one in typical condition on yahoo at the moment.
