If you take the rear fairing off your bike - the reg/rec is bolted to the frame at the left hand side.
There is a terminal block into the bottom of the reg/rec.
You should see 3x yellow wires going in, one x red and one x green.
Stuff the probes (carefully!) up and make contact with the spade connectors inside the terminal block - such that you measure across the red & green. This is the output voltage. Don't forget to rev above 5000rpm. This should be around 14v.
With the yellow ones - you need to change the voltmeter to read AC rather than DC. Put one problem either on the frame, or the -tive terminal of the battery, or the green wire - and then measure each yellow wire in turn.

Got it sorted the battery was fucked and the wires goin to rectifier wer joins and corroded...got new battery and joiners and shrink wrap and it's 100% getting 14.5 volts at the batterymanicguitarist wrote:Where are you based? There might be someone from here nearby that could assist.
