Refurbing the rear manifold
The rear manifold on my RVF needs a refurb, mainly because one of its studs broke off.
Are the studs on it made of stainless steel? I'm thinking of getting a bolt a get it welded on and then get the manifold painted too.
So, what's the best way to get it all cleaned inside and out and which paint should I use?

A few of us years ago get the stubbys glass media blasted and vht painted then but with the head of the exhaust it just peeled away after a few hours running.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Re: Refurbing the rear manifold
The nuts seem to be stainless, they're a bit yellow from the heat?
Anyway, I'll give them a go and get some vht paint for the outside; the inside of it I was considering some caustic soda, bad idea? Is it even worth cleaning the inside at all?
Also, I'll be replacing all 8 studs on the heads; is it good practice to get some copper grease on all the studs, or will it make them come loose?
Cheers all.
