Petrol pouring out of overflow pipes only when driving. Help

Post by darin »

So my NC23 has petrol running out of what I presume is the overflow pipes just below the carbs. When idling it is fine but soon as I rev the engine whether in neutral or driving it immediately pours out. Any idea what this is from?

Pic below shows the pipe it is running out of (on both sides)

Probably float valves not sealing, take the carbs apart and give them a clean, maybe replace gaskets "O" rings and float valves ( available from graeme france or david silver) 8-)

Thanks, I was planning on doing that this weekend.

Bike has been standing for a long time so hopefully it is just that

Almost certainly just that - especially if you didn't drain the carbs / use a lot of fuel additive before leaving it standing.
