HRC Catch Tank - MOT Legal?

Post by Jamie Crooks »

Just bought an HRC catch tank to replace the original, as i have tyga setup to replace the originals.

ive bought an HRC catch tank with the intention of fitting it on the front meter stay behind the headlight.

Can anyone give me a definate answer as to whether this will pass the MOT? and secondly will the plod leave me alone if they see it?

Thanks

Yeah, no problem as long as it doesn't foul any controls.

technially it shouldnt pass. The reason I say that is that as specified by HRC and in said manual, any bike that uses any HRC parts or modifications must specify non-mot vehicle.

That said... How many mot test stations/police have read the manual? :D

It will be fine as long as its well fitted and doesnt look like its about to fall off and shower you/others in potentially hot fluid.

I gave my catch tank to Zak, then realised I needed it, so rather than buy another I used a Chemical venting bottle from work, MOT'd that with no problms and it was essentially the same as a HRC unit but had all the health warnings etc :D
Going on the internet is like owning a gun... Just point, click, then shit your pants waiting for the Police to turn up.

coolant catchment tank, expansion tank,reservoir......same shit different name lol!!!!!!! :D :D

as fastdruid says,so long as it doesnt foul any controls etc........it is usually down to the mot tester discretion on certain things.

that is true, but i have had 4 Bikes MOTed here, one fail. i had the NC30 MOTed in Enniskillen and the lad checked the brake hoses for leaks and that was about it. they are a little more vigorous over here
