Anyone know the airgap for Maxton modded 30 forks

Hi All,

I have just rebuilt my late type nc30 forks that have modded maxton internal, and the ride is a bit harsh under heavy braking. After speaking to 100% suspension (about a diferent set of maxton forks) i am pretty sure the issue is too much oil.
I dont have the maxton book for the fork suspension settings so have just used the honda oil level- but due to the internals having an extra spring type cartridge i think the oil level is way to high.

Any advice appreciated.

I phoned Maxton about my FZR sp forks and spoke to a very helpful lady who gave me all the info I needed.

Yer i called them last week, but the chap i needed to speak with was flat out with the gold cup and TT.
I have left a message for him to call me back but wanted to get the forks sorted ASAP. Also as its asking for setup info for free i dont like to keep pestering, although i have used them loads in the past and tey are really helpful and will freely give me the advice.

Why not get a syringe and some tube, and suck some oil out and see how it goes? A bit of a faff, but it might help you to understand how the oil level affect the handling, and to find your own ideal level that suits you and your bike. You may even end up with a better result!

Yes that was the approach i was planning- just wanted an idea of what maxton recomend. I have the settings from someone with the same forks and around the same weight, so should be good to go
