New Battery. white smoke + smell under seat and now no power
Hi all,
This is my first time on the forum, and I have a problem. I replaced my battery (which was completely dead) on my NC29 and it started first time after being sat for a few months. But then as I started giving it a few revs a lot white smoke and the smell of burning electronics started coming from under the seat and near the reg rec. It blew the ignition fuse which i changed but I still get no lights on the dash when I turn the key. Can someone help because it felt like christmas was cancelled as I was so excited to get out on it and then this has happened
.
Thanks,
Mark

First off,
Did you buy to right battery with the correct terminal placement and connect it the right way?
If it's ok then your reg/rec is duff, check and or replace that first.

Reg/rec wouldn't determine lack of any lights on the dash. Check sub fuses, then connections between battery, main fuse, ignition and dash. The nc30 doesn't need a reg rec or cdi plugged in to get lights on the dash to come on :-)

Oh and maybe check/test battery with a multimeter/light. Could you have a short circuit somewhere?
