front cylinders not running

Post by crazyman »

hi everyone , just got my nc30 race bike going but not running on front cylinders , they get warm but not hot , i have put new plugs in the engine and put carbs on it of a good running bike , it has good spark on front cylinders when plugs are out , the wireing loom was one i got with a engine and been striped for racing , also the rev counter is not working , can that be linked to the cylinders ? cheers

just got my dyno going again so put the bike on it , found the rpm on the front coil will not rev out but the back dose , it idols fine though, so guessing the coil is stuffed or a bad feed to it

Maybe the rpm pickup only runs on the rear coil, it was the same on my bros, meaning running maybe due to carbs blocked/not enough fuel, though could be to do with the rev counter, as doesn't removal of this put it into Limp mode..though that's usually limiting to under 5k rpm...

i striped all the wires back and found no resistor in the line , pluged a old smashed speedo in and seemed to fix it , apart from tuning it , it now revs on front cylinders , was the cutting out at 3000 instead of 5.5 was what put me astray but looking at revcounter on the bike it kind of slows down at .5.5 then rev slow right through , now go's through fast but needs tuning

it's common for there to be a flat spot arouind 5-7000rpm, the bikes often run lean in this area, raising the neeldes wiht a 0.5mm washer seems to help most people.

You only need to connect the wire to 12v and it will stop that.
