I know - I checkd it against that. Some of the information matches up whereas some of it conflicts. For instance, The F3-TT manual quotes +0.3mm lift on the kit cams whereas Tony Scott's spec sheet lists the max lift as being the same as stock but with a longer durataion.

As an aside, I checked the piston/valve clearance yesterday and with stock rods, the clearance is fine. I get around 2.5mm on the intakes and 1.8mm on the exhausts.

I think the thing with kit rod as pistons is the rod being +3mm over stock which necessitates the need for the kit pistons with the deeper cutouts

Tony Scott used to machine pockets in the pistons when using std cams and skimmed heads.

That depends on the amount he skimmed I guess. I ran a 0.5mm skim with std pistons for 2 seasons with no issues.

At the end of the day, what someone else did is somewhat irrelevent. The numbers that I measure on the parts that are in front of me is what matters as it should be for any engine builder worth his salt

I agree measurement is everything,
You build your own you measure your own.
But remember,Tony scott took over were Honda left off.

Hey Hunter

I never realised you added those pics. Thanks for that - it is pretty informative.

I just had my heads skimmed and combined with my HRC camshafts, I'm too tight on clearance now. I'd love if any of the other NC30 engine builders out there would post what they run with regards to safe piston-to-valve clearance so I can compare notes

Thanks
Luke
