NC35 Engine Run With Less Power

Post by apaulette_86 »

Hi all, i've search for this kind of topic but didn't saw any. This is my bike problem:

All this while my nc35 run fine, but yesterday as I start the bike using choke (I rarely use choke....and the bike not running for a week)....the bike start (after seconds the bike start I push the choke off)...and judging from the exhaust note I thought it was fine....until I started riding it, I notice my bike sound like a twin paralel engine or single.....as I was late for work, I cont riding and clearly the engine sounds weird and as I increase the throttle the power just like moped bike......

So what should I do.....I have spares plugs....but what causes it?...is it the choke?....or my plugs are due for change?.....help me...please

did it fuck up at all revs or just some higher revs?

describe what it does - you start it? does it work?
you then get on it, put in gear and set off - does it work?
what revs can you get to?

is there enough fuel in the tank?
start simple....

thanks for the guidance mate....

1. did it fuck up at all revs or just some higher revs? => the answer is yes....it continue to sound like single/ twin paralel engine at all revs.

2. you start it? does it work? => yes i start it, it works...at idle rpm, i cant tell the difference of the exhaust note.

3. put in gear and set off - does it work? => yes it does...when i rode it then i notice the exhaust note is totally diff.

4. what revs can you get to? => yesterday i manage to get pass 10000rpm.....then i close the throttle...but still sound the same.

5. enough fuel? => enough of course

...i already disconnect the battery...but yet to strip open my nc....raining season here....i hope for some guidance...thanks

yes but the vaccum pipe might be broken from ages / the fuel tap / diaphram parts do just break soetime and can starve fuel.

other issues could be faulty ingition, bad connection, faulty plugs are more common though.

after startng it spray water on the headers with bottle and see if any are visibily colder than the other cylinders

Hi all....I've stripped down to find the fault....fuel hose seems ok....so I directly took out all 4 plugs...I notice two front plugs are a bit wet(It smells like water) on the outer side....so I presume my plug caps are not quite tight....clean it up and dry it...put it back and start it, it ran fine....

...so...is this normal or my assumption wrong?....could it be something else?....

It's not uncommon for just 2 or 3 cylinders fire up, when the engine hasn't been fired up for a while.
As mentioned before, spray some water on all headers to check which cylinder hasn't fired up and if after a bit it still refuses to play, pull the plug(s) off and give them a good clean.
When the mind is relaxed, the body will go faster! 8-)
