Removing NC29 Fairings - Mid and lower - Any flexing & Lugs?
Hiya All,
Hope to pick your brains, regarding removing mid and lower fairings for a oil change service.
I remember with the 1996 CBR600f, there was all kinds of co-ordinated flexing of side panels, to dislodge lugs and other plastic fastener bits.
Is there any of this with NC29 OEM panels? (The Haynes manual is a joke of instructions.)
The Mid and Lower panels all look straight bolt ons, and just a case of removing all the fasteners.
Advise so far:
Mid panels off 1st
2 hidden bolts
then lower and V
Hope you can advise

Yes what I do is mids, first, take trim clips off, loosen bottom three 1/2 turn bolts and carefully unhook the front near the indicator and carefully lift and tilt off the inner fill panels, watching you dont snap the small plastic top infill middle stud, reverse for on making sure that middle infill stud and top of the fairing tabs connect, then front indicator section and finally your three botttom 1/2 turn bolts and trim clips.
Bottom, well v panel off first then loosen three bolts leave the top one till last so you can pull the fairing off cleanly without damaging paintwork. To put the fairing back on, loosely fasten the top bolt, then the front lower bolt, then the rear, any other order and for some reason its harder to attach for me.
Sometimes the 1/2 turn lower clips move out of position, make sure they are seated correctly before attaching the mids.
