Gas flowing VFR400 head
Hi all
i recently got a complete vfr400 nc24 in about a thousand parts and alot of extra spares on top of that, ive beat blasted and re spayed all the cosmetic parts already
and currently rebuilding the motor from the bottom up again , i am currently waiting for the new piston rings from Honda South africa which they advise might take 2 to 3 weeks.
i thinking of Gas flowing the head while i frikken what for the rings, any sort of ideas on the power gain and is it worth while doing it????????
or any other ideas to get a little more out of the motor would be great.
thanks alot

Compulsory reading

My two cents:
Given the substantial gains that they achieved from such mediocre increases in displacement, I would venture to say that the standard heads are outstanding.

Can you go into more details on the work? Are you doing it yourself or having it done? Do you have any pics?
Thanks

these engines were designed to produce 60hp and are alredy in a good state of tune to get that, getting anymore requies cams and pistons and other stuff.mcg1610 wrote:thanks for the link,, interesting reading

you managed to get nc24 head gaskets?
and as for perfoamnce, if its a stock nc24, improving the forks / brakes/ choice of tyres and suspension will give you more increase in performance than any engine mods barr a complete hrc f3 kit will give you
