I'm looking up at starting a project to design a set of triple clamps to suit an 06 CBR1000RR front end as I have one lying around. I myself have access to CAD and FEA software packages (thank you uni!) to both design and simulate some basic loads on the design.
What I'm looking to discuss in relation to the design is should I am for the same dimensions as the existing NC35 triple clamps but with appropriate diameter holes to suit the CBR forks and if anyone has any tips for design (ie traps that I'm probably going to fall into).

Re: NC35 Triple Clamp Design
Your resale market will be greatest if they are the same dimensions as stock (fork leg clamping area diameter excluded). I'd be interested in a pair assuming they don't end up being too expensive.SteveNC35 wrote:I'm looking up at starting a project to design a set of triple clamps to suit an 06 CBR1000RR front end as I have one lying around. At this stage I'm not looking at selling them or manufacturing them for others. Don't really have the time to make my own lol, this is more testing out a few ideas.

I gotta a set of custom triple clamps to fit a 06 cbr1k front end to a NC35 if you need some help.

Just out of curiousity how different is the offset and spacing from the stock CBR1K triples?JC120 wrote:I gotta a set of custom triple clamps to fit a 06 cbr1k front end to a NC35 if you need some help.

Re: NC35 Triple Clamp Design
I'm not sure, my triples have the same offset as the NC35. Only the fork spacing is different.
