Fork size question.

Post by dobbslc »

I need a pair of 36mm twin disc forks for a project, the forks I have are a single piston single disc set-up and don't work well enough!
Do any of the early FZR' s have this size?

Thanks

Thanks for the offer but not really my thing
I couldn't think of any other bikes that would have forks that size either

^^^^^^
Thanks

FZ or SRX are possible or the later XV forks (I've got the XV750 with a weird single pot caliper with 1 vertical mounting bolt!)
I don't think it's possible to get that working well enough for modern roads, although some of the Virago forum members took exception to me calling it "crap"
They've obviously never tried 4 pot twin discs......

Vigaros don't go quick enough to trouble their brakes.
The FZ will probably have the same calipers as the RD, 2 pots. If that's the case the 3tj calipers should fit, but the discs are smaller.

True BUT when some pleb in a shitty Audi A4 on Romanian plates cuts me up on the A406 I want to stop quick!
As I don't fancy a round of abuse with the Motor Insurance Bureau about uninsured drivers!

So ... you're actually riding a virago 750 ?
That's shocking in itself

Best thing is to use napalm, a week or so ago you coild have put it on a bonfire but now your screwed. Get the XJ / FZ forks and build the XV slideres into them (I dont know if thats going to work)
Alternatively get a new front end / yokes but its getting expensive for a XV750
