Hi all,
Hoping to get some help from you lot as youll be more experience with these.
Got a NC23 K model 1989 cbr 400, decided not to start overnight.
Resistance at Pulse generator blue and blue white wire - 408-410 ohms - Spec showed as upto 420ohms
Both ignition coils have 12v at both terminals on 12V ignition and crank doesnt change apart from voltage drop from load - 8-10v. Surely this should trigger on start, i assumed one side switched to earth?
CDI - Ive tried another known CDI as previously had a CDI fail so tried this first - No effect.
CDI ---> Ignition coil shows the same 12v feed on ignition and volt drop on crank
Battery measures 12.1v and has been on charge
Kill switch tested 12v one side, 12v switches through when "run" selected
Im going to test resistance of coils but its regardless if the coil isnt receiving a trigger on crank.
Ive spent 2 hours internet trawling for homework but nothings advanced my findings.
Anyone with advise to progress this?
Thanks !
Jrd

Hmmmm I don't know any of the resistance readings you should get on coils etc but that battery sounds a bit iffy,
12.1v is low for a good battery especially if it's just been on charge.

Agreed with the others. Get yourself a Varta gel type battery as they are top class.
