Re: vfr nc24 with R6 regulator??
erm.
They are both 5 wire reg / recs.
3 yellows from the genny and a red/white. The only difference is the NC24 has 2 red and 2 white.
What do you mean by "wires burning out" this is not a usual sign of a reg/rec problem but something else is broken, espeically if it didn't happen straight away.
Most commonly a shit connection between the yellow wires and the reg/rec. All connections MUST be soldered and crimped otherwise the corrosion of the wire will soon build up enough heat to melt the wires / connectors, this will happen whatever reg/rec you use if you have bad connections as the wires carry much power.
all you need is the R6 reg/rec pinout.
the 3 yellow wires can go anyway and the red /green have to goto the + and - respectivly.

if you dont solder the connections they will melt.. get back to clean wire and solder / crimp everything.tommytukamomo wrote:thanks for your reply mate

the nc30 manual is in the docuements libray at the top of the page, it gives tests for the generator, you can do the same tests on the nc24 generator to see if it is good.
