rear shock info wanted

Post by mo haggs »

Ok, so I'm aware of the cbr600 modded shoocks and the s1000r modded shocks On vfr's/rvf's
Both of wich have piggyback reservoirs.
Is there a shock that can be modded to fit vfr's/rvf's that has a pistol-grip reservoir.

Rs250 does fit but the res hits the swingarm when the suspension compresses so its likely all pistol grip types will foul.

I had a conversation with Colin at 100% suspension about getting an ohlins TTX shock fitted to my rvf, and he said don't bother. The cost of buying a good one (any pistol grip type) then getting it re valved and sprung starts to cost the same as buying a new nitron ready to go. Also if you do change the valving it may alter the length of the shock so you may loose or increase ride height, and most race shocks are already tight to the swingarm so if it's longer it may not fit.
Do you have to use this type of shock?
An NC is for life, not just for Christmas!

Its purely for asthetics.

Guess I'll opt for a piggy back nitron instead.
