Advice on removing decals off oem fairing

Post by Johannes »

Bought a set of fairings from a breaker for my NC24. They are Honda OEM units but in good nick except for a few scratches and I want to clean them up and respray them. However I need to get the OEM decals off the fairing panels. Any suggestions? I was thinking a heat gun suitably distant to damage the vinyl/plastic of the decals but not the fairings?

Any other experience/suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

Hair dryer a heat gun will get too hot if your not careful. You best check you can get replacement decals first though which I doubt you can.

Was going to rub down and respray in any event. I can get the majority of new decals made if they're not readily available.

Like I said these fairings are in good nick but too tatty to leave as is.
