NC30 carbs round the wrong way

I just realised that the NC30 carbs I bought must've been seperated at some point as the pilot screws are all pointing inwards.

I switched the float bowl covers around so the drain screws are pointing out but I am loathed to separate them again as getting that top plate with the velocity stacks on is probably my most hated NC30 job ever.

Aside from being a bit of a pain to adjust the pilot screws, is there any other problems with running them like this?

I Also have a set of carbs like this luke, but i dont think mine have been messed with - they look untouched.
Perhaps for some reason honda had a batch made this way?
I am sure someone (Neo) will have an answer

NC30/35 carbs are set up with everything facing inwards because of the way they are masked by the frame rails when installed on the engine. There`s no room to get a screwdriver to the outsides of the carb bank in situ but using a long thin driver and coming at the inner edges from the opposite side gives you a shallower angle of approach and makes it (just about) possible to adjust the mixture or drain the float bowls without dismounting the carbs.

Yes, As RickO has already pointed out. Drain Screws and pilot screws face inwards on properly built carbs.

You need a long flat screwdriver and poke into the V through the sides (panels off of course) to get the idle drop set (pilot screw adjustment) and draining floats done.

If you put them on the outside then there is no way to adjust when the bike is running...
