I see David Silvers have a left and right listed. What's the difference? I just measured off a spare exhaust in the shed and diameter is the same. I just ordered some standard brackets off fleabay.

There's no real difference except that they are a mirror image of one another. And I think they used to be different prices. I assume the difference is so that the screw/bolt head appears in the same place on both sides. Presumably, something to do with the way in which they clamp is not compatible with simply reversing the mounting direction on the opposing side.

Had a look at the pics on CMS. On one edge of the band there's a small hook-like projection that presumably anchors itself into some lip or dimple on the pipes. It is this which makes them handed. For reasons best known to Honda, it is fairly common for otherwise identical handed parts to be different prices.
