TRX850 s/a question

Hi all

as above looking at swapping a TRX850 swinger onto my 3en2 1wg - just wondered what shock would be best mated up with this?

all help would be great

currently trying to build up as much info as i can. Before i start anything i want know what i want lol

iv read nearly all the posts on here now - from what iv read i know you need to take a touch of the side of the swing arm to narrow it down to fit and bush the pivot to reduce it from 20mm to 16mm but is there anything else you would recommend/advise from your experience?

You want the hugger if you use the TRX rear arm; they tidy up the install no end.

Wait until you decide on the engine transplant before buying any s/a or rear wheel stuff.
The position/offset of the gearbox sprocket defines the rear wheel position.
Some upgrades go much better/easier than others.

well i was going to go with the T-cat untill someone showed me you can fit in a YZF750

just depends on how much work and how viable the 750 swap will be

Hello.

The YZF750 engine is too much work. Chuck a 4JH or 4TV in it and be done, they fit straight in and I reckon you could do it in a weekend if you had all the bits to hand whereas the 750/1000 needs a little welding and other PITA stuff which is fine for a long-ish term project but not really much cop for something that you might want to use this year. There'll be no need to bugger around with the chain run if you use a 600 engine with a TRX arm either- it's a win/win situation!

thank you Kayla that’s great i think that’s the route i will take, is there a particular year T-cat that i need the 4TV out of due to mounting points? as i know they sometimes change them mid generation.

and will i be needing a set of these off your good self?

Those plates are for 3tj / TCat or Foxeye conversion where the frame bolts to the head. Your frame bolts to the gearbox.
