Or if anybody reading this has any late model forks and yolks ect from an nc30 please let me know! but I would really like some info on fitting a monster front end if possible!!

Why do people keep butchering these lovely classic bikes.

it seems there are easier, perhaps less expensive front ends to buy to modify these bikes. It can take awhile but a late model set can give you a good start and Rick Oliver on this site has lots of good mods for them and even set ups for other front ends like FZR or CBR. I think a Ducati front end is way to much for a bike like this as there are better proven ways to get what you want. I know this does not help your direct question, but hope it gives you a better perspective on easier parts to make your NC30 front end perform.
If i can wrench on cars, bikes should not be a problem, right?...

Hi, I should think given enough time and adjusting you could make anything fit anything, but the question is will it be any better and worth while doing? Never to put a downer on a good project, cos I do like good machining for the sake of it. But by the time you've made this fit that and do god knows what else (like clip-ons, steering lock stops, etc) you may as well as wait till a nc30 turns up.
Whats up with your original one anyway?
There was a guy on here that deals with parts think his name was Geoff but cant find him it now. Or maybe even drop Rick Oliver and Graeme France a pm see if have any ideas.
Cheers
Ian

Re: Will a ducati monster front end fit on a nc30? Anybody?!
Idemonix I'm not butchering the bike I'm re building it...it's been in a front ender and the forks are bent to shit...I know what your thinking 'the nc30 is an iconic bike and should be left near standard and un molested' (my dad has said this to me 100 times) but the front end is crumpled on mine and I can't really find a set of nc30 forks to replace them...Peter I see what your saying but I can get the monster front end for £200 so it's only slightly more than an nc30 front end, if I can find one...and I don't even have concerns about the front end performance cause I've never riden the bike...I bought it off a mate how it is and I'm struggling to find an nc30 front end to replace the crumpled front end that is on it...and Ian you've made a good point, I can get a clip on conversion from ebay for £40 I think so that wouldn't be to much of a problem but I never thought about a steering lock, that would be a problem, i wouldn't want some bastard walking away with a bike I've just taken months to build....as said above my bikes been in a front ender and I'm struggling to find an nc30 front end and I also like the look of the usd's but thinking of the steering lock and nobody seems to have done a monster conversion before so I can't get any tips of what to mill off of where I'm thinking it would take just as long in trial and error trying to get the right amount milled out or spaced up....I might just have to sit for a bit longer and wait for an nc30 front end to turn up...thanks for your comments and even though they haven't directly answered my question it's nice that people have actually gave me there thoughts/concerns that sprung to there mind instead of viewing the thread and carrying on without any comment at all...

Re: Will a ducati monster front end fit on a nc30? Anybody?!
There's plenty of forks about, just look for a donor bike (I just picked one up for £375 which has good frame, subframe, engine, front end and wheels) or lookout for someone breaking an NC30 which happens weekly around here. Failing that, RO does some kits for more suitable front ends such as ZXR400. With a monster front end, it's never been done before so it could be a catastrophe and by the time you've accounted for clip ons, steering lock, ignition barrel, brakes (you'll probably have to get what Monster's use, brembo's fairly often - expensive!), mud guard might foul etc etc. Lots to think about, so why not just wait for an NC30 set which come up a lot more often than you think!
I was going to link to Parts For Sale, but I see you've already commented on the thread. Just keep your eye out and keep posting things like that and you'll find a set in no time.
Sorry for being harsh last night, rough day!

I think i may have found a set after all! And yes your right about all the bits that could go Wrong that's why I posted the thread to see if anybody knew about a monster conversion and it seems nobody has done one and don't worry about it everybody can be a bit touchy when it comes to a bike that is close to your heart!:)
