I have an annoying stutter when running on a steady throttle around 11-12k bike accelerates well no hunting at all will easily pass the red line. Carbs have been clean have new jets from gf. Any suggestions

Re: stutter
Suggest slides may be lifting to quick -- perhaps wrong slide springs or someone may have drilled the slide holes a touch to big.
Some after marked headers give this symptom as well ...
Cheers

Re: stutter
Got the springs from you so I think they will be OK. Other sounds like I need new carbs? Headers are standard. Will replace fuel filter and clean out tap filter first I think

Re: stutter
ok so
replaced fuel pump relay
replaced filter
not much improvement
next
put fuel lines back in correct position
Check fuel pump output.

Re: stutter
sorry to but in and on my first post here.
i have the same problem with my bike.
revs out fine in neutral but if i am in say 5th or 6th. it trys to hold back all the time.
i took the carbs off today to check the mixture screws and they were set to 1 & 1/2 turns the manual says 2 & 1/4
they may had been a pipe off to but i cant remember as i was a bit hunger over today.
the bike is pulling a bit better but it wont rev past 11000 when in 5th or 6th neutral is fine.
i have a after market pipe on mine.
jonhunt did you just start doing it>? mine has been doing since i got the bike.

Re: stutter
Its done it since rubuilding the carbs but they were such a mess before I can't say if it was there from the off. I don't have a problem with revs I can't bang it well into the red if I'm not carefully and it will hold 13k plius on steady throttle but you can feel a pull and hold back

Re: stutter
Took the carbs off at the weekend, no 4 intake manifold had a sliver of rubber scrapped of probably partly obstructing the airflow. we will see if this makes a difference.

Re: stutter
Seems to be better after a quick run but I want to take it further than I had time for last night, Had the down pipes off as well for a coat of PJ1 there was a lot of carbon soot deposits around the exhaust manifold maybe running rich? Need to check the plugs.

Re: stutter
Further to my little saga. Chnged a few things but still have an irritating condition. t seems to be worse when hot. In particular idle is difficult to predict. i.e. it will sometimes stall at junctions off the thottle, or drop of & die.
Sometimees its OK. Good news is its got a gold ECU so no restrictions
