More torque at low revs
More miles per gallon
Engine easier to start
Smoother engine idle
Headlights brighter at idle

I was reading a big in-depth techno filled article about this on some Japanese bbs a few weeks ago, i'll see if I can find the thread but somone did a good job at explaining how it can improve the things above.

Just been out for a ride after doing this modification,
First thing I noticed is the tickover much better, strong and reliable even at 1000 rpm where before it would bog down and die when first started,
Choke can be shut off earlier without it hesitating,
Exaust note sounds deeper at low revs,
Throttle response seems better.
All in all well worth doing, got to try and syncronise the carbs again now and see if I can make it even better.

Awesome! Glad it's made an improvement!! Till I posted it, most people I asked about in this country were all like wtf! Seems Rick O's kit is good :)

Well I'm interested, I have a few problems that I have always suspected to be realated to the wiring/electrics even after cleaning up the connections and the earths. I've contacted Rick about getting a kit so I'll let you know my results.

yes this is the way mine felt before the skoda played a part in stopping the bike,all-in-all for all the price it was i think it's a worthy bit of kit and am considering it for my other bikes.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I just got round to fitting my kit last night......how the hell do you attach the ground cable to the starter motor without taking the bottom rad off?

I undid the bolt so that I could move it forwards but the oil filter is still in the way, I just can't work it out!

Took mine down under the oil filter after removing the bottom radiator bolt?
