nc30 carb jetting issue..

So decided to take a good look at my carbs seeing as I haven't done it before and one float seal was leaking too...

Following cammo's guide, after taking them off and having a look, some of my internals look a little different..

First problem, emulsion tubes and main jets are one piece... (115,117 front and same rear was how they were wrongly set...)


Second problem, needles look different, are marked right according to guide but have 'c' clips on end, all same groove but is it right?


Thirdly, couple of pilot screws are rock solid... Haven't tried freeing them up yet but obviously they are not supposed to be that tight right? Sorry for picture angles too, blame tinypic for rotation...

That looks like a bakudan brand Japanese needle and main jet, the general consensus with these is to stick with what works (standard parts).

You should be able to remove the main jet from the emulsion tube with a couple of spanners.

that kit probably came with different cv slide springs too.. unless you have the full kit and proper settings they can often be a lot of trouble to get working right.

The stock setup can be made to run really well so they don't offer much gain for an average user, probbaly best as cammo said to put stock parts in, can always sell em on.. pay attention to cv slide springs though, if they are kit springs they should be sold with the needles and jets..

Ok so decided to just put them back together properly, just want to ride haha, 115 front, 117 rear, gave everything a good clean and changed all the gaskets so hopefully sorted leak out if nothing else... (not started up since, not enough hours in the day...)

I've turned pilot screws out to 2.25 (micron can) they was all fully screwed in before. She didn't run too badly before so hoping will still be alright or bit better.

Will get round to putting everything back to stand at some point, anyone know where I can get standard emulsion tubes? Rick doesn't seem to sell them and cant take mine apart, they are one peice

probably easier selling the carbs as a complete unit and getting a 2nd hand set..

Do the tips of your needles have grooves in them?

Defo bukudan jet and needle kit then as mentioned above, I spent all weekend trying to get the bike running sweet with that kit but gave up in the end.

what parts did you have your with kit? Ive seen a few listed forsale without everything and that aparantly makes them even harder to get running...

The picture you put up is the bakudan jet screwed into a standard emulsion tube - they may have corroded and stuck together over time if you're having trouble getting them apart.

I have a heap of standard emulsion tubes but post is expensive from Oz to England, maybe try a wanted ad in the classifieds first for a closer set. If you get stuck drop me a pm.
