import duty on fairings

Just received a invoice of £35 for import vat and clearance fee for my chinese fairings is that normal thought that was a bit dear.

Vat at 20% 8 quid post office hadling charges.

I reckon that's about average; there was a topic on it a few months ago.
A red box doth not a Snap On make.
