NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
Help!
I purchased a SAMCO hose kit and I've only got 2 sections of SAMCO hose left. 1.5m of thin blue stuff (left hand side in photo) and a 50cm section of larger diameter SAMCO hose (right hand side in photo) BUT I have to replace the radiator hoses that cross over the rocker cover yet (center in photo) and the overflow pipe from the coolant bottle.
Has anyone done the SAMCO conversion and if so, can you help me out here??
I COULD use the smaller diameter stuff but it's so small that I'm unsure if it will hold enough pressure and/or flow correctly??

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
I seem to remember Samco cut some of the hoses out of their kit, maybe thats the ones that are missing. One reason why I lost interest in them, couldnt see the point if all not renewed.

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
That's pretty poor if that's true? Especially for the price for the kit??!!
I'll contact them and see if I can get a length of the correct diameter......

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
I've just ordered a SAMCO kit, not least because the exact piece you say is missing is the part that just split on my ride out a couple of days ago!
Please let me know how you got on with getting the required part.

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
If the piece that split is one of the vacuum hoses that run over the top of the rocker cover then yeah bad luck, those hoses aren't included in the kit.
BUT you do get a length of the right hose as an extra, it's only about 60cm in length but you could cut that down and use that to replace the section which has split mate??
I've ordered 3meters of the hose I need and I intend on cutting it up to replace the vacuum hoses. I'll have heaps left over but they'll just become spares.
Good luck!

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
If its the air relief hose , i used a length of fuel hose from my local bike shop. They had a load of different sizes and was about £4.

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
Dunken can you explain why the air relief hose is in 3 separate sections?? So annoying!!

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
Grimly, that's exactly what I already did as a temporary measure before I bought the SAMCO kit! I had been hoping for a permanent solution
The previous owner had not reattched the breather hoses to the airbox, and I think the oily air had rotted the rubber pipe just along the rocker, hence the spilt.
What diameter fuel hose did you get, and how much (aprox) am I going to require? I've not yet taken it apart, and would want to have all the bits before I start.
On the plus side, at least all the visible hoses will now be sexy and blue

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
I think from memory it's 9mm thick vacuum hose. 4mm internal diameter and the walls of the hose are 2mm thick......I think??
Samco website has a list of vacuum hoses available and that hose was only available on a 3m length....so I bought that!
You can't really see those hoses with all the fairings on but yeah.....at least you know the hoses are sexy I guess?!

Re: NC29 SAMCO Hose fitting
It is annoying, ive replaced all three with fuel hose as they went brittle and snapped. The last one went when i was trying to balance the carbs !!!
