Rear seat problem

Post by VFR400Ste » Sat Apr 12, 2014 8:28 pm

Hi, I have an 89 NC30 import and can't get the rear seat to unlock. Do any of you have any knowledge of how to get it off without damaging any of the rear fairing ? Many thanks for any replies ..

First the basics. The key turns clockwise and the rear of the seat lifts / is where the latch is. The key turns about 45 degrees and internally pushes a little Lever that pulls a cable to release the latch. Try lift the rear of the seat and move it left or right. This may help if the latch is almost opening. If that doesn't work palm up, get your fingers under the fairing on the left hand side of the bike in line with the seat. You should feel the cable sheath / outer. Pull this to create extra tension in the cable while someone turns the key and pulls in the seat.... hope that helps

Well done. Now to work out why it's not works as it should.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....
