Re: Starting problem (electrical)
Whats the ignition coil?, is it the H/T lead? or is it a lead coming from the ignition barrel?wullvfr wrote:the one that may be causing your problem is situated just in front of the ignition coil on the left hand side......the ignition coil that is in front of the choke lever.
there is also one by the rear ignition coil, this is the one that the battery negative leads to.

The coil is the black thing with the two HT leads coming out of it. One at the front left and one at the middle right.

Re: Starting problem (electrical)
the high tension leads come from the ignition coil and go to the spark plugs,as was said.....both are on the left hand side, one in the middle and the other towards the front.

Re: Starting problem (electrical)
Ok, i give them a bit of a touch up but it still doesn't work, i even checked the kill switch contacts but still nothing. so i have decided to get it to a garage so they can get it done and ready for the MOT. (which i have till the 25th untill my £450 insurance policy is automatically cancelled)

Re: Starting problem (electrical)
have you checked the plugs to see if they are sparking???
fuel tap on,is fuel definately getting to the carbs and further?
trying to determine if it is electrical or a fueling problem, could be something simple and it will save you a good bit of cash!!!!

Re: Starting problem (electrical)
Well i checked the fuel tap and that was fine, i didn't really want to take out the spark plugs because of the lack of tools and knowing my luck something is bound to fall into the combustion chamber. Also i have only got 16 days to get a re-MOT so even if it costs me £150 it will still be saving me the time and the hassle of reinsuring the bike with 3 points and 2 claims.wullvfr wrote:have you checked the plugs to see if they are sparking???
