Bobbins RRSP
Hi
I have a 3TJ2 rrsp and want to know the size of the bobbins that will fit the swingarm.
I thought they were M10 1.25 bit they go in for one turn and after that they won't go any further.
It's the same on both sides so I don't think the thread is broken.
Does someone know?
Thanks in advance!
Michael

Re: Bobbins RRSP
An M10 x 1.25mm would be an "extra fine" thread - they're probably 1.5mm. As far as I know they're standard Yamaha

Re: Bobbins RRSP
M10 x 1.25 is fine pitch EC, M10 x 1.0 is extra fine- the threads in the SP swingarm should be M10 x 1.25 unless some ham-fisted previous owner has had a go at winding a couple of B&Q's finest* in using a scaffy bar...Evilchicken0 wrote:An M10 x 1.25mm would be an "extra fine" thread - they're probably 1.5mm. Have you tried chasing them out with a tap?
* easily available M10 x 1.5 coarse pitch.

Re: Bobbins RRSP
I tried a M10 1.5 bolt today and it went in a little bit further but it stopped after two full turns.
I shall asked my dad to bring his taps so we can try if that's helping.
Ia m trying to restore this bike but he's not helping me!

You could give it to me ....
I think they're threaded right through so if have to retap the thread do it from inside the arm
