Would anyone be interested in CBR400 HRC Carb kits?

Post by Yakama »

I have just received a copy CBR400 NC23 HRC Carb Tray and some NOS HRC air trumpets, If I were to get them replicated would anybody be interested in a set? They would also come with a translated copy of the NC23 HRC set up manual and also a copy of the HRC Parts manual.

And here is a scan from a Japanese magazine with an NC23 SP race bike with the kit installed

And the set up manual and parts list:

I have no idea as of yet just wanting to know if anyone would be interested in them. I will get prices if enough people are interested

And I should have asked this before, but what is the benefit of the HRC carb tray?

For a road bike nothing, in fact it would be a nightmare as you would need to clean out the carbs so often but for a race bike it should free up more power, Ive not used this setup yet but based on a similar setup for the NC30 and assuming Honda know what they are doing when developing their F3 race kit parts then with a bit of setip time this should give good gains

Hi Yakama,
Did you every run the bike with this fitted and were there any gains?
Myself and one of the other guys in Bemsee are looking into something similar (fed up with the Honda rubber flappy thing that just gets in the way !)

No but that's the setup on my bluefox bike and that was good enough to lead the Suzuka 4 hour race in 1989 until another rider took the bike out

If you do ever look at replicating the tray, let me know as I would be interested.
