Blonde moment!
I had to share this..
So for the last couple weeks I've been trying to figure out what's going on with the charging system on my nc30. I rewired the rr not Long before that as the old plugs and wiring had melted (prev owner had issues and replaced the alternater etc). At the time I got a good 14.5v, took it for a ride and checked after, 9v...hmmm...
So here's me every couple of days between work looking up charging diagnosing stuff etc etc, finally go and order a new battery today (old one only 1y old but thought maybe if the rr was gone..)
Put it in and 9v. Just out of interest, I go check the car battery..10v..open up the multimeter, move the battery slightly, and voila, 14.5v everywhere. Feel like such a retard! Didn't know that a poor battery connection on the multimeter could affect the reading, rather than just either working or not working!

Re: Blonde moment!
Haha, old school analogue meters the battery usually only does the resistance tests, but dmm's go a bit mad when there batteries get low, I always change mine when the battery light comes on!

Re: Blonde moment!
It worked fine once I moved the battery slightly, I can only assume that it was getting poor contact and maybe was drawing some current from the battery? Really odd though!
