Had my eyes open nothing turned up as yet!

Just re read this thread - realized I swear too much and have a crap memory as I had forgotten half the things I had done and redone. I think the overall message with this build is buy a decent compression tester - then borrow a different one to confirm if the first one was right . Then borrow a different one for a final check.

For another bike project I am working on (turbo related - cant get away from the things) i am having to learn how to do and interpret Computational Fluid dynamics. Lots of people use this in everyday engineering design and I wondered if anyone on here has a scooby about this subject - shot in the dark maybe but i never ceased to be impressed by the wealth of knowledge here.

Chaps

I owe you an apology for my absence and lack of updates, particularly in line with the amount of help and support you have given.

In a Nutshell since January i have been tied up with work probably putting in a 7 day a week innings to make a crust. I can't complain about being busy though as that's a good thing. The majority of my free time has been taken up trying to get the drag bike I am building/working on in some sort of shape. It's a turbo charged 810 Kwak with lots of trick bits - unfortunately it has had a hard life with the previous owner and the start point was a total rewire - long story short - it runs and now its being totally dismantled to to try and get a few more horses and a bit of plenum redesign.

So to the Yam

All that was left to do when i last posted was to put on the plastics and ride into the sunset. Irritatingly after assembly i noticed some technical mistakes in the respray patterns so it was dismantled and resprayed again - yes I told you early in this thread I am anal.

Two weeks ago i got back all the plastics to my satisfaction and reassembled the bike (the spray job started last May - wont say who did it but if you want to know the trials and tribulations PM me). I took it out for a ride and was pleased with the results although the suspension needs setting up properly and there is still a "Fueling Issue" (i think that is where i started). It runs rich and i am going to put it on a rolling road to sort the fueling and find out how many horses it s capable of.

This weekend was to be MOT time but the "evil" work has crept in again so that's off the cards at the moment. I am actually working in the Isle of Man this week so will be doing a few quiet miles on the circuit on a mates (who lives on the lands ) commuter bike. Could be worse.

I promise I will update all withe progress!!!!

Drag Bike .... now that's not a bike in womens clothing is it ?
You know the rules about pictures (although you're away on work so there's a bit of leeway)

The FZR - once the carbs and suspension is set up you'll have a great bike

]The Highs, Lows and A Favour Needed

Ok it's finish and I MOTed it on Saturday. A bit sad that the the guy I have been using in Stroud for MOTs is retiring after 35 years and this was my last MOT with him.

Bike passed with no problem and I was able to get out for the first decent ride since I finished it.

The handling, power, braking all surpassed expectation and I think I probably had one of the best rides I have had in a long time. Sort of made up for some of the shit I have had will the build. I was really impressed with the bike and did about 60 miles of twisty roads in the sunshine - marvellous! Came home and so excited that I went straight back out. I stopped at a garage to fuel up and the bike fell off the side stand! I scratched the mirror but cracked the generator cover. It can be welded and and repainted but it will take time and I want to ride the bike.

So my request is can anyone lend me, for a week or two, a generator cover Part No 3tj-15415-00 whilst I get the other one shorted - I will pay courier etc.

Thanks in advance of help.

Incidentally I should be really pissed off but I am very happy with the bike.
