NC35 - Winter Project

I would have swopped my NC35 for your 749, it's the bike I'm after next (seen one in yellow over in Anglesey, guy said straight swop) but guessing you want a bike and some ££, but here she is regardless, and 3" higher than a stock 35 as I'm also 6ft, suits me well

I've been in contact with a couple of dealers and people selling NCs, but nobody is local enough to be able to pop over to.

I'm in contact with one dealer over a trade with an NC30 and a Suzuki Bandit.

I would rather an RVF but would need to find one for about £2,000 with £800-£1000 for my commuter.

If I get the commuter first I can wait and -eventually- an RVF will come up.

Hey Philfingers, as much as I really want an RVF, I need something else as well. I don't want to ruin the Ducati as a winter hack and certainly wouldn't do the same to an RVF.

I managed to get an NC35 already, it's going to be delivered on Friday with fresh tax and mot, can't wait.

Now I have £800 to pick up a bike for commuting, preferably a naked as it's what my missus likes to ride and she'll use it too.

I saw a CB-1 with 22k on the clock going for £650 but it was sold...bugger.

So I sold the 749 and over the weekend purchased a Suzuki GS500F, 2004 with 40,000 on the clock and the guy was only its second owner. Runs and rides fine, perfect for work.

I also picked up a 1994 NC35 with 15,000 on the clock. It has been dropped so has some Chinese fairings that don't quite fit. It runs and rides nicely though. There is an 18" on the back though, but given my height raises the bike a little.

I've ordered a Haynes manual, oil filter, air filter and new plugs. My plan is to do those bits and see what else I fin.

I have noticed a small oil leak that without the book can't identify. It looks to be coming from a wire/cable that is entering the bike in the engine casing on the right side just above and to the left of the dipstick/crankcase.

Slowly getting there with the 400.

Oil and air filter change done to get me started.

Discovered that my fuel pipe is perished and requires replacement. I'm also going to change the petcock for a new part as the bike feels starved of fuel at times. This might be down to the perished rubber but I'd rather get it done.

I also plan on fitting a new rad and fan as both are looking tired and its overheating. If anybody wants an NC35 rad & fan for spare let me know as with a good clean could help somebody out.

What do you all think of silicone vs rubber with rad hoses?
