To satisfy my curiosity ive just been out to measure a spare 18" wheel and it measures 19" edge to edge so that is Indeed a cheap rvf wheel you have there mate, go on how cheap was it?

Well I didn't get a chance to get back to mine to check the code but seeing as you have checked yours now it looks like the real deal. Well it was cheap but I'm sure a few have got better deals in the past, this one was £120, still going to be on the lookout for a bargain basement RS250 one though.

Centre of wheel -ie middle of the wheel/ centre...to outer edge of rim I always thought .

Well I confirmed yesterday that it is a 17' rear wheel the code on the inside of the spoke reads correct. Happy days!

I Havnt been a member of this site that long but this is a great post mate, well bloody done, when does the manual get released of the work, I also found your tube vid- sounds fine, more ongoing vids/Pics of this project and any race pics would be sweet as a way of following its transition into the race world/track day weapon life.

Well Done again mate I have found it very gooood

Thanks very much mate, if you think this is a good thread then look a few pages back at some of the others that have inspired and given me ideas they are bloody brillant! Glad somebody else thinks the bike sounds ok, it went well at cadwell park back in august and has done me proud for aproximately 3000km, i still cant help but want to whip the heads off this winter just to check everything is ok but ill hold off till ive gave my spare set of RVF heads a tickle.

There will be plenty more photo's and videos along the way, I hope to have the HRC carb kit all bought up in January so that should make some interesting reading and a nice video of the open carb induction noise

Still need to get the HRC system sand blasted and painted but im struggling to find the time to get that done, really cant wait to hear the noise of it with the open carbs!

Other than that progress will slow down a bit now as i havent actually got that much left to do other than fiddly little bits like lockwire and swapping a few of the restored/painted parts for tatty ones.
