NC30 Shock Options

Post by dx400r »

Now I know the Nitron exists as an option and people like to fit RS250 shocks to their bikes but whatelse have any of you fitted?

Im trying to rebuild my viffer after the car to rear of bike interface went all wrong but dont wanna blow up my budget. Seems to be plenty of gsxr and r6 shocks from many a year on good ole egay? Anyone done it?

I see some of these have a res mounted at the top. An issue for mounting on an NC30?

Any companies people recommend to perform the no doubt required fitting modifications?

Oh and is it just me or are RS250 shocks made of unobtainium?

Maybe check out my thread here: http://www.400greybike.cc/newforum/view ... =24&t=4386" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have been a bit unlucky and got my fingers burnt by trying to cheap out, so my experience of getting an RS250 shock onto an NC30 means I wont be recommending it to anyone. As said in above thread, get a shock made for the NC30 :D

i have WP but can't comment as it needs reworked before fitting.
but have used a Hagon and now have a nitron and both where good enough to make a difference.
i will never in all my days riding be able to out ride a shock with minimal settings.
the WP has ALOT!! :|

We do indeed, and what a great piece of kit. Mine was £560 IIRC and has more bits that can be adjusted than any road bike needs. I used it once on the track, and if I'm honest, I wasn't as good a rider then as I am now and didn't appreciate the quality of the shock. I had a Maxton mono in the rear of my track-bike and it worked fantastically well.

If I was buying again, I'd go for the bells and whistle Nitron from Rick Oliver after having seen one and riden a bike with one fitted.

Here's a little comparison of the 2 that I've owned,

Maxton,

My race bike has a reworked standard shock to suit the rules.

New spring, compression adjustment added to remote res, and revalved. Any decent shock place will be able to mod the standard unit.

As pointed out to me at the last track day it's undersprung, but I'd still say it's the best performance increase you'll ever see on an nc30 that sees the track.

It rocks. :ugeek:
