Nc30 fork oil silkolene pro rsf query
Hi, I have a nc30 racebike, I'm after changing the fork springs to stiffer ones 0.95nm, changed the fork bushings and seals, all I need now is fork oil, was looking at getting the silkolene pro rsf, only thing is I don't know what grade of oil to use, theres all different grades and viscosities. I'm 6ft 5" and 15st.
Any help greatly appreciated

Unless youve had the forks revalved stick to 10w which is stock, changing to a thicker grade will have a percieved stiffening but it changes the dampening in a non-linear fashion, in simple terms it buggars up your front, especially when it comes to proper bumps.jasonmac87 wrote:Hi, I have a nc30 racebike, I'm after changing the fork springs to stiffer ones 0.95nm, changed the fork bushings and seals, all I need now is fork oil, was looking at getting the silkolene pro rsf, only thing is I don't know what grade of oil to use, theres all different grades and viscosities. Re: Nc30 fork oil silkolene pro rsf query
The HRC manual recommends Honda Ultra Cushion Oil 8w. It is actually Showa branded. I can't get the 8w here (in Australia) but I know people that do use the 5w version of same in their race bikes - Honda Australia can supply that one.
I cant vouch for what it might to to standard forks (refer posting above), but I have racetech internals and I'll be trying the 5w on my next outing.
