Cbr ignition fault
Hello i am new here i use to look at this forums before i got my cbr400 was very helpful thank you.
So i brought my self a cbr 400 nc 23 1989 at last (same age as me 24 years old clap clap) it was starting fine as soon as i turn the key light come on. Next day i went out turn the key and no lights i touched the speedo and lights came on same thing next day i had to play with the speedo to get the lights to come on. Now it wont come on at all so i think a wire is loose if you guys know what wire it is it would help me a lot since i don't know much about bikes yet.

Re: Cbr ignition fault
Hi, the most obvious thing to do, without removing anything would be to check all the wiring/plugs you can get to around the front end. If this does not get results then the next best thing would be panels and nose fairing off and do the same. Intermittent faults like these can be a bugger to trace and only working through everything will yield results. Suspect especially any home made mods that may have been done, once found clean any dodgy plugs and try to get the circuit checked. find a knowledgeable bike mate and buy a Haynes manual for your bike.
good luck

Re: Cbr ignition fault
hey thanks for getting back i have had a look under the speedo
and di found few wires hanging not connected to anything

i don't know what they are
i will find a wiring pic and try match the colours
also the key hole is not the standred Honda one it looks like a aftermarket one
i will try get pics on tommorow
