Throttle tube

Post by hondacb1 »

While changing my grips to heated grips I discovered that the previous owner had not set the pin correctly on the bar. Due to this I have broken the plastic tube inside the grip - The pull cable part is still operational but the lug that holds the push part has broken so the bike is still essentially ridable albeit very manual hahaha. Will I need to buy a second hand grip including the inner sleeve or is there somewhere that I can buy the plastic bit new?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this :D

Hi
I had mine apart yesterday and I think the throttle tube looks identical to that of my ,93 CBR600 F2.
Those you can still buy new, so it might be worth looking for a cheap used one and trying it out...
Have you phoned a Honda dealership to see if they can supply you a genuine tube?
I've not tried my local dealer for CB400 bits yet but they were excellent getting stuff for my equally old CBR

Most honda tubes should fit as I have a throttle assembly form a CBR1000 on my superfour. Just reused my stock tube as I could not be bothered swapping my grips onto the new tube as they were the same. CBR600 tube appears to be the same.
