NC30 rear hub nut

Post by vfrhusky »

I was about to change my rear disc when I read in Haynes that the nut should not be reused.

Any advise on this and where I might source one.

if the stake nut is in ok condition then it can be re-used.
i believe rick oliver stocks these and he can be found on here or by giving him a email im sure he will be able to sort you out.
it was the man himself who advised me that if the nut is ok then it can be re-used.

Do you have to take the hub nut off to swap out the disc? I believe I removed mine without doing that.

NC30 you can do it without removing the hub (just).
NC35 you can't.

Changed the disc today. The old one came off easy, but fiddled for over an hour trying to get the new one over the hub before giving up and went to make a cuppa. My son had a look then got it over in about 3 secs.
Anyway, thanks for the info, just shows Haynes aren't always right.

Quick question.

Is that nut right hand or left hand thread?

it is clockwise to tighten it and anti-clockwise for loosening it.

46mm and i think its 160nm on the torque wrench.
