NC30 - Rear hub question

Post by lukemillar »

I am in the middle of building a 2nd bike from spares and have a question regarding the rear hub. With everything I have done to my NC30, I have never actually removed a rear hub!

Here is a video of the hub as it stands on the frame/swingarm I bought:

(Vid will take 40mins to convert if you're quick, click and get squat!)

I'm pretty sure that my other hub doesn't do this. However, It might have just stuck into position. I'm pretty sure the nut will hold the axle in line when a wheel is bolted on, but if not, I just want to check before I start stripping the hub which I'd rather avoid doing if I can!

Thanks
Luke

As long as the bolt doesn't spin when you put the nut on, you are fine. That rod has a spined end that sits inside the hub.

That makes sense - Yep, it does notch into place and not spin so all good!

Cheers
