Cylinders cuting in and out sounds more like elctrical. However as it is intermittent it could be difficult to pin point the cause. Since the problem appears to be associated with a bump in the road, may be you have a bad connection somewhere in the ignition system. Concentrating on the ignition system wiring, with the engine running try pulling on the wires where they come out of the connectors, sometimes the core can be broken but it is not obvious because the insulation is still intact. Also shake/tap the ignition control unit to see if you can induce the problem. Monitor the battery voltage while you are testing for a wiring fault.

If the wiring is ok, replace the ignition control unit.
Do you run with headlights on?
